Farm In The City

Pejam celik pejam celik dah hari Ahad. Esok start sekolah macam biasa. No more bangun lambat. No more ikut suka2 nak buat apa2. Everything must be planned ahead. Back to the old routine.

9 hari cuti, I spent 8 days of it grading papers. Huhuhuhu... Apo nak buat? Dah kite cari makan cenggini. Siang, malam, pagi, petang, sampai nak masuk Subuh mengadap paper. Marathon berabis dan akhirnye, habis!! Fuhhh... Baru mood berjalan tu datang. Lagipun poket tengah kering ni, menurun sikit nafsu berjalan tu. Hehe!!

Hari ni, sempena hari last cuti sekolah, we decided to go to the Farm In The City petting zoo. Dekatlah sesangat dengan rumah. Naik kereta tak sampai setengah jam sampai. Tapi kalau pergi kitorang2 je mn syok. So, ajaklah Atok, Nenda dan Iskandar ikut sekali. Jadi, dua keretalah kami pergi.

Sesampai je kat sana, cuaca pun sangatlah bestnya. Windy dan tak terik sangat. Orang pun tak berapa ramai, but still meriah. Parking dia full so terpaksalah Mr. H and Ayah park by the roadside je after dropping us at the entrance.

Zoo ni private property. Kalau tengok dari luar, macam tak best jer. Takper, takper. Kita tengok kat dalam camana nanti...

Tiket price die agak mahal. Kalau dewasa local RM 30. Children local RM25. Kanak2 90 cm ke bawah tak payah tiket. So, total utk our group (4 adults + Iskandar) is RM 145. Takper, takper. Kita tengok kat dalam camana nanti...

We were in the zoo about 3 hours. Conclusion; worth it!! Memang best! It's a petting zoo, so you can actually pet most of the animals. Jangan risau, for every place yang kita boleh pet them, mesti ada staffs / keepers kat situ jadi taklah risau. And, the food / treat for the animals (kangkung and pallets) are free! Ha, yang free ni best sebab most places yang ada haiwan, kita kena beli food tu. Kat sini, minta je dgn keepers dia. Staffs were really friendly too. Siap bagi penerangan mcm2 lagi about the animals there.

Janganlah expect nak tengok harimau, gajah, singa, giraffe or panda ek. Mmg takdelah kat sini. Tapi banyak binatang kecik2 yang cute2 yang kita boleh pegang macam birds, ponnies, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, fish, tortoises. Pony ride pun ada. At RM7 per ride, mmg puas hati tengok Iskandar senyum happy! Nisa je kesian tak dapat naik sebab tak cukup height. Budak2 bwh 90 cm tak boleh naik for safety reason katanya. But maybe sebab keeper tu kesian tgk Nisa frust, dia bagi juga Nisa duduk kejap bergambar atas pony tu. Hehehe!!

Reptiles pun banyak like snakes and lizards. Ada yg dia bagi pet juga kalau berani. I only dared to pet (ermmm.. not petlah.. more to a timid brush of a fingertip) a medium-sized phyton.  Kering, rough, scally texture tu buat saye meremang bulu roma. Eeiihhh!!!

Dah namanya zoo, the bad odour tu tak boleh nak elak lah kan. Sekejap je bau2 tu kita perasan. Dah excited tengok mcm2 animals, lupa terus bau tu. Haha!! But the zoo is actually clean. Animal faeces tu almost takde sebab staff dia mmg cekap sungguh membersihkan faeces kalau ada. Hand wash basin and garbage bin pun banyak around.

Mesti wash hands lepas pegang animals

Based on our experience there, these are some tips for future guest:

1. Suitable age for kids going is 1+ year above. Toksah le bawa baby newborn / kecik pergi sebab sgtlah tak hygenic nye. Ada tadi bw baby dlm 3-4 months old. Ishk.. Kesian kat baby takut sakit..
2. Wear light clothing and comfortable shoes. It's 100% walking trip. Takde tramp what-so-ever to help you move around the zoo. Children pulak pakailah seluar panjang utk cover knees kalau2 terjatuh sbb trek die tanah / dirt / rough pavement.
3. Tak payah le beriya-iya bw stroller ye sebab mmg lah tak sesuainya tolak stroller kat situ. You'll end up carrying the stroller + your child. Kan penat tu?
4. Bw sabun / hand wash yang kecik utk basuh tangan lepas pegang mcm2 binatang kat situ
5. Bw bottled drinks. Cepat dahaga sebab it's warm and humid there.
6. Tak payah bermekap / bertudung melilit bagai. Panas.
7. Travel light. Sebab you need to keep a close eyes on the kids

All in all, sangat seronok and educational at the same time. Mmg boleh datang lagi. The kids had fun. And when they are, kita pun seronok juga !!
